Regardless of the UV Index, the following sun safety measures are
always encouraged:

  • Whenever possible, seek shade.

  • Minimize sun exposure at midday (10:00 am to 4:00 pm).

  • Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with Sun Protection Factor
    (SPF) 15 or higher on exposed areas.

  • Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, especially after swimming or
    perspiring.

  • Wear a wide-brimmed hat and clothing that covers your body.

  • Wear UV-protective sunglasses.

  • Avoid sun lamps and tanning parlors.

  • Watch for the UV Index Daily.
